Raleigh Frayser Economic Development Corporation rebuilds economic capacity in North Memphis's Raleigh-Frayser corridor by connecting residents to capital, skills, and ownership — operating a small business satellite office, building skilled-trades workforce pipelines, and channeling accountable philanthropic capital through donor-advised fund infrastructure, all on formal nonprofit governance built to absorb serious investment.

Business
Small Business Satellite Office
An SBDC-style office placed directly in the corridor — capital access, technical assistance, and business formation support residents don't have to leave the neighborhood to reach.
Workforce
Trade School Initiative
Skilled-trades training — welding and beyond — built through partnership and collaboration agreements, aimed at real regional labor demand rather than generic job training.
Capital
Capital Infrastructure
Donor-advised fund positioning through the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and the Fair Break Economic Empowerment Fund — capital with accountability controls, not one-off grants.

The Raleigh-Frayser corridor was hit harder by disinvestment than most of Memphis. RFEDC's approach is place-based on purpose: the same corridor that lost capacity is where it gets rebuilt — housing, business, and workforce infrastructure sited on the ground residents already live on.
